Bespoke Systems

The Specification Stage and Support Stages are carried on a Time and Material basis.

The Development Stage is carried out on a Fixed Fee basis. While other factors may be taken into consideration, our standard rules for estimating development times are as follows:-

  - We first estimate the shortest possible development time, assuming no complications or bugs.

  - We then inflate this estimate to allow for overrun risks. Overruns are particularly prevalent in the software industry. Perhaps this is partly because, with the amount of different hardware and software platforms now in use, the amount of possible complications and permutations are much greater than in most other industries.

Software Consultancy and Training

Our services are charged on a Time and Material basis, although for training courses a charge is made for additional users.

Note: The Software Consultancy rate above is also applied to bespoke database systems where:-
	- There is a link to Sage 50. The ability to link to Sage not only requires a higher level of expertise, but also involves a regular subscription cost for our 'Registered Sage Developer' status.
	- It involves enhancement work of less than 8 days. There is not only an inherent technical cost involved in any set of changes (pick-up time, setting up test environment, etc), but also a higher degree of overrun risk with smaller budgets, and this higher rate in part reflects this.
