The Village

Delabole is a traditional mining village, approximately 2 miles from the North Cornish Coast. There is a large park nearby, a good pub, and a very good fish and chip shop nearby. It is about 2 miles from the legendary Tintagel, and 30 minutes drive to the Camel Estuary.

The Area

It is a great location to explore the area of North Cornwall. Take long walks along the rugged coastline, or take the small ferry from Rock across the Camel Estuary to Padstow and sample a Rick Stein crab sandwich. South Cornwall is also within easy reach.

The Beaches

The North Cornish coast is great surfing country. Wet suits and surf boards (and body boards for novices) can usually be hired on the beaches. The dramatic Trebarwith Strand beach is a 10 minute drive away. The beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs, and twice daily a wide sandy surfing beach is exposed by the low tide. The large rock pool and caves make it a great beach for kids. Life guards are on duty in the Summer months. Other nearby beaches are Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven and Bude.
